Welcome to the UK Trench Art Site
Trench art has been defined as:
“Any item made by soldiers, prisoners of war and civilians, from war material directly, or any other material, as long as it and they are associated temporally and/or spatially with armed conflict or its consequences”
In simpler terms, if a particular conflict hadn’t happened, this piece of art would not have been created.
I have been collecting trench art, mainly Great War period, for fifteen years. This re-vamped website has a brief history of the development of trench art along with a catalogue of types of trench art but, uniquely, holds a catalogue of signed pieces - a catalogue of 'trench art artists'.
Initially this catalogue of artists will be from my collection, but any collectors out there with signed pieces, please get in touch so I can add them to my list.
